About NAL GeoData

GeoData (https://geodata.nal.usda.gov) is currently a pilot geospatial data catalog at the National Agricultural Library. It currently contains several hundred catalog entries, so it is for demonstration purposes, not a comprehensive catalog to search for data.

It showcases geospatial catalog records internally stored and exportable as ISO 19115 geospatial metadata records.

One of the most complete records is for data named “NAL Trees.” It describes a GIS layer of the location of trees surrounding the employee parking. It was created to contain no sensitive data and to show the capabilities of GeoData and ISO 19115 metadata. It can be found by searching for “NAL Trees” (without the quotes).
